Why advance child-seat planning matters
Austrian government guidance states that, as a general rule, children under 14 and shorter than 135 cm must use an appropriate child restraint; from 135 cm, a seat belt is required, while an additional child restraint below 150 cm remains recommended.
Taxi-specific note:
Austrian taxis and rental cars have a legal exception from the general child-restraint obligation,
according to ÖAMTC. ÖAMTC nevertheless recommends age-appropriate restraint and specifically advises
